Croatia holidays: Carl Cox entertains 6,000 people in Dubrovnik

The Croatia holiday hotspot of Dubrovnik hosted a major dance music event featuring DJ Carl Cox last weekend.

Providing an impressive example of the sorts of parties on offer to travellers taking Adriatic cruises and other trips in the region, the night saw approximately 6,000 people dancing throughout the evening and into the early hours.

Cox was greeted by a fireworks display as he took to the stage and began a set that worked the crowds on Kupari beach into a frenzy, reports the Dubrovnik Times.

Demand for the event was high, with normal tickets priced at 200 kuna (£24) and special entry with access to a VIP lounge going for as much as 2,000 kuna.

Dubrovnik is one of several Adriatic cruise destinations that host dance music events and parties during the summer season, with Club Papaya on the island of Pag providing the venue for sets from the likes of Tiesto and Fatboy Slim this year.
