Croatia festivals offer Glastonbury alternative

Croatia festivals offer Glastonbury alternative Combining a music festival experience with a Croatia holiday could be the ideal summer travel solution, according to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA).

With no Glastonbury festival scheduled for the summer, Victoria Bacon, the head of communications at the ABTA believes overseas festivals offer the ideal solution for UK holidaymakers keen to hit the festival trail.

Croatia is offering a bumper range of music festivals this year with the likes of Soundwave and Outlook perfect for anyone seeking a dance music event this summer.

With the likes of Skrillex and De La Soul scheduled to descend on these popular Balkan events, whether it be hip-hop or hardcore house, there is something for everyone.

InMusic festival in Zagreb meanwhile provides something for indie fans, with the likes of Franz Ferdinand and Mando Diao scheduled to play.

Add to that the nearby Dalmatian coastline and the opportunities for a Croatia cruise it presents and Balkan nation could be one to consider.

"Taking in an overseas music festival this summer is a great way of combining two British love affairs; live music and summer holidays abroad," Ms Bacon said.

"Ticket prices in Europe are often much lower than the UK and food and beer can be a lot cheaper too."ADNFCR-2466-ID-801325551-ADNFCR
