Pag festival offers EXIT-ing tunes on a Croatia holiday

Put together by the team behind the popular Exit festival in Serbia, this summer's EXITed festival on the island of Pag, is ideal for Croatia cruise seekers.

With Glastonbury taking a well-deserved year off, and the likes of Reading and Leeds festival proving increasingly costly to the average festival-goer, it is little wonder that more people are turning to European venues for their live music fix this summer.

As the Association of British Travel Agents' (ABTA) head of communications Victoria Bacon, explains this is partly down to the new appeal of trips to the continent.

"Taking in an overseas music festival this summer is a great way of combining two British love affairs; live music and summer holidays abroad.," she explained.

Chief among these popular festival options is Serbia's Exit music festival. Based in the Novi Sad region of the country, tickets to the festival, which runs from July 12th to 15th, are priced at a healthy £95.

The line-up for the event is shaping up nicely too, with heavy-hitting rock duo Wolfmother and Guns & Roses performing alongside Manchester alumni New Order.

Yet for all the rock happening in Serbia, a trip over to neighbouring Croatia and the picturesque island of Pag could prove a more tempting prospect for dance music fans.

The island is a notorious house and trance lover's paradise, with the island's Zrce Beach proving popular with young partygoers across Europe.

This summer could be the one to remember too, with Club Papaya hosting a special four day dance floor festival featuring some of the top Electronica DJs from across Europe.

It's all part of the new Get EXITed festival created by the team behind EXIT festival.

Starting on June 25th and running for four days, the event features sets from Funkerman, Chris Lake, John Digweed and Joris Voorn.

With the island also offering its fair share of Adriatic cruises around the region's many islands, this could be one holiday for the adventurous dance music fan.
