Nas to bring 'fresh' beats to Croatia holiday island

US rap legend Nas looks set to bring the noise to this summer's Fresh Island festival on the Island of Pag, a popular destination among Croatiasailing enthusiasts.

Scheduled to begin on July 5th and running through until July 8th, the Fresh Island festival is the latest event to add to the ever expanding catalogue of events on offer to those booking a Croatia holiday this summer.

The Balkans nation provides a particularly unique travel experience to the intrepid explorer too, with any of one of the many music festivals on offer easily combined with a Croatia cruise around the nearby Adriatic Sea and the many islands littered within it.

These tours, like the festivals themselves also offer the kind of value for money not seen in the UK.

Victoria Bacon, ABTA head of communications, extolled the virtues of festivals abroad during a recent interview.

"Ticket prices in Europe are often much lower than the UK and food and beer can be a lot cheaper too," she said.

Fresh Island is the latest example of this trend, with festival goers paying a competitive ticket price to see musical legends including Brooklyn-born rap sensation Nas.

Born Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones, the rapper first came to prominence in 1994 with the release of his seminal debut album Illmatic.

Since then, Nas has gone on to record ten studio albums over the course of a career that has seen nearly as many highs as it has lows, including a notorious dispute with rap alumni Jay-Z.

Older and slightly wiser now, the 38-year-old is set to bring his catalogue of extraordinary tunes to Zrce Beach on the Island of Pag for this special event.

His performance will kick off proceedings at the three-day event as music fans soak up the tunes and fine Croatian sunshine that is set to accompany the event.

With tickets still available to this festival and the many delights the Balkans has to offer, things are shaping up to get tasty this summer.
