INmusic named in CNN's Top 50 festivals in the world

The Zagreb-based indie rock event INmusic has won plaudits from CNN, after being named as one of the 50 best music festivals in the world today.

With just a few weeks to go until the start of the busy Croatia holiday season, would-be festival goers up and down the country may be looking to the continent in search of a new summertime music experience.

And they could do well to look at up-and-coming events like the INmusic festival in Zagreb.

Combining some of today's top indie bands with the idyllic settings synonymous with Croatia, a visit to this event could be the ideal stop off as part of a Croatia holiday in the region.

After all, while music is an essential part of any Balkans trip, a visit to Croatia should not be undertaken without booking one of the many Adriatic cruises on offer in the region.

These trips provide the perfect opportunity to explore the region, soak up and the sun and experience the gorgeous waters located off the country's west coast.

It can easily be combined with a festival trip too, with tickets to some of the biggest events in the region proving comparatively cheap when weighed against the likes of Reading Festival.

This year's INmusic could be just the ticket, with headliners including Franz Ferdinand, New Order, Mando Diao and Gogol Bordello.

Now in its seventh year, the event has won widespread acclaim with CNN travel writer Jade Bremner praising the events as ideal "for the festival-goer who likes music but doesn’t like to get too grubby listening to it".

With showers and Wi-Fi as standard on site, Ms Bremner also praised the site for the festival with the "idyllic forest and lakes" providing "a quick escape if it’s getting too loud for your delicate head".

Now in its seventh year, the festival kicks off on the final weekend of June, with low-cost flights to the region available to book today.
