Dubrovnik Summer Festival begins today

Dubrovnik will be a popular stop on Croatia sailing holidays over the next six weeks as it hosts its annual summer festival.

This city-wide celebration of culture gets underway today (July 10th) and will run until August 25th.

There will be an opening ceremony for the 60th Dubrovnik Summer Festival in front of St Blaise's church, led by noted theatre director Dora Ruzdjak Podolski.

Music fans on Croatia sailing holidays will be able to stop off in Dubrovnik to see performance by the Djabe jazz band, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and other groups.

There will also be theatre productions, dance performances, opera and other events to enjoy at venues around the city including Revelin Fort, the Dominican monastery and Ruder Boskovic Square.
