Journalist recommends festival-hopping on a Croatia holiday A travel writer has recommended Croatia holidays for festival fans after visiting some of the unique events that are held in the country every year.

In an article published in the Independent, Natalie Paris pointed out that many visitors spend "glorious summers" taking Adriatic cruises along the coast.

During her own break, the writer paid a visit to Rab town to experience its annual festival dedicated to medieval times, which she described as a "raucous re-enactment of life in the Middle Ages".

Known locally as Rapska Fjera, the event has its origins in the 14th century and was revived in 2002.

Ms Paris also enjoyed plenty of culture during her Croatia holiday, attending a jazz festival in Groznjan and watching some art house filmsin Motovun.

Both destinations are located in the Istria region.

People planning Adriatic cruises this year can catch the Rapska Fjera celebration between July 25th and 27th or enjoy some musical evenings in Cres at a festival that will run from July 3rd to August 21st.ADNFCR-2466-ID-19654996-ADNFCR
