Croatia holidays: Julian Rachlin festival to return in September

There will be some sophisticated entertainment on offer to people taking Croatia holidays next month when the Julian Rachlin & Friends festival is held on the Dalmatian coast.

Returning for its tenth outing, the celebration of chamber music will take place in Dubrovnik from September 1st to 12th.

People planning to stop off in the city during an Adriatic cruise will be able to attend a concert on every day of the festival.

The performances will take place in the Rector's Palace, a spectacular 17th century building in the heart of Dubrovnik, as well as other venues such as the terrace at Revelin fortress and the city cathedral.

Cellist Mischa Maisky, pianist Itamar Golan and violinist Janine Jansen are among the performers who have taken part in the festival in the past, while Hollywood actor John Malkovich narrated a concept piece that was presented at the event.

As well as experiencing Dubrovnik's cultural offerings, travellers visiting the city during a Croatia holiday can take a walk along its fortified walls or spend some time relaxing on the beach.
