Experience the Days of Diocletian on a Croatia cruise

Experience the Days of Diocletian on a Croatia cruise There will be all sorts of memorable sights and experiences on offer to people planning to visit Split during a Croatia cruise this month, with the Days of Diocletian festival set to return to the city.

The event sees Split citizens don tunics, togas, olive wreaths and other garments associated with ancient Rome.

It will begin on August 20th with an official opening on the Peristyle at 20:30 local time, which will see mayor Zeljko Kerum handing over the keys to the city to Emperor Diocletian and his wife Priska.

Holidaymakers who will be visiting Split during an Adriatic cruise can also enjoy a number of live music performances, parades, gastronomic celebrations and other events before the festival comes to an end on August 23rd.

The centrepiece of the annual festivities is Diocletian's Palace, a Unesco World Heritage site that dates backto the turn of the fourth century AD.

It is one of many fascinating historical attractions worth visiting during a Croatia sailing holiday.ADNFCR-2466-ID-800028317-ADNFCR
