Belly dancing festival to entertain Adriatic cruise passengers

There will be some memorable entertainment on offer to people taking Adriatic cruises this month when the city of Split plays host to a festival of modern belly dancing.

Split Tribal Fest will take place in the popular coastal destination from August 23rd to 26th, the Croatian Times reports.

Expert dancers from all over the world are set to travel to Croatia to take part in the event, including Kami Liddle and Sharon Kihara from America's Bellydance Superstars organisation, who will be hosting workshops.

The European belly dancing scene will also be represented by visitors such as Tjarda van Straten and Renate Bekker from the Uzume group.

Travellers who will be stopping off in Split during a Croatia sailing holiday should head to the historic Peristil square inside Diocletian's Palace to see what shows and events are taking place during the festival.

One Adriatic cruise itinerary allows passengers to visit Split before sailing on to the port of Omis and the island of Korcula.
