Celebrate the sea on a Croatia cruise

Travellers looking forward to a Croatia cruise in October might want to pay a visit to Zadar to join in with an annual tradition in the city.

An event entitled The Zadar Sea will take place throughout the month.

According to the Croatian National Tourist Board, the festival reflects the love and respect that local residents have for the sea, owing to its natural beauty and power, as well as the important part it plays in local culture and commerce.

People visiting Zadar during an Adriatic cruise will be able to join in with a range of events celebrating the aquatic environment, including harmony singing evenings and seafood fairs in the city's main square.

There will also be craft shows, exhibitions of old boats, live music, poetry, a regatta and much more to enjoy.

Zadar is home to many permanent attractions that can add a memorable element to any Croatia cruise, such as the church of St Mary and the historic Roman Forum.
