Celebrate the olive on a Croatia cruise

Celebrate the olive on a Croatia cruise Travellers planning to visit the island of Krk during a Croatia cruise next month will be able to take part in an event celebrating the olive.

The fruit and the oil derived from it are both important parts of Croatian cuisine.

Krk will host its annual Days of Olives festival from October 10th to 19th, with the town of Punat the main focus of the celebrations.

People stopping off on the island during an Adriatic cruise will have a unique opportunity to take part in the olive harvest and learn more about the significance of the simple foodstuff.

Homemade snacks will be served to visitors who do some olive picking during the day, before a hearty meal is dished up in the evening to showcase some of the region's gastronomic traditions.

Krk is the first port of call on a Croatia sailing itinerary that begins in the northern port of Opatija and also includes visits to Rab, Zadar and other destinations.ADNFCR-2466-ID-800086957-ADNFCR
