Take an Adriatic cruise to sample Losinj cuisine

Adriatic cruises will offer the chance for guests to try some unique food on the island of Losinj in April.

The destination will host its fifth annual Cuisine Festival from April 8th to 22nd 2011.

One of the main themes of the event is Losinj's maritime heritage, with visitors given the opportunity to try modern versions of some of the dishes that once would have been eaten by sea captains sailing in the region.

Travellers attending the festival during an Adriatic cruise can sample a varied selection of cuisine while enjoying the sights and atmosphere of the picturesque island.

According to the Croatian National Tourist Board, Losinj experienced its 'golden era' as a maritime centre between 1853 and 1884, when it was one of the most important sailing destinations in the western Mediterranean.

People interested in seeing the island's contemporary sights and attractions can set off on a Croatia sailing holiday from Opatija, visiting locations such as Krk, Rab and Zadar along the way.
