Experience the Fiumanka regatta on a Croatia tour

Croatia tour guests will have the chance to see an impressive sporting spectacle in Rijeka next month.

The annual Great Fiumanka regatta will return to the city on Kvarner Bay from May 9th to 11th.

One of the highlights of this event for travellers enjoying Croatia holidays in the region is the opportunity to see an array of yachts with colourful sails gathered near the shore.

Sailors from all over the world gather on the Adriatic coast to take part in the race, which runs from Rijeka to Omisalj and back.

According to the national tourist board, the contest "takes every ounce of strength from even the most experienced" and is a must-see for all "sport and adrenaline addicts".

Travellers embarking on Croatia tours this year can head to Rijeka as part of a trip that begins in the historic coastal city of Split and also includes visits to destinations such as Zagreb, Ljubljana and Krk.
