Croatia cruises: Split Summer underway

Croatia cruise guests will be treated to some memorable experiences during this year's Split Summer.

The annual cultural celebration got underway on July 14th and will continue until August 14th, according to the national tourist board.

At the heart of the programme is a series of opera productions, which will be presented by hand-picked theatres and performance companies from around the world.

Travellers visiting the historic city during Adriatic cruises will also have the opportunity to see plays, ballets and art exhibitions.

In recent years, organisers of the Split Summer have extended the programme to encompass new events such as jazz concerts and film projections, as well as street theatre performances.

Events take place in a number of different venues, including the streets within Diocletian's Palace.

Therewill be more unusual sights and experiences on offer to people visiting the Adriatic cruise port of Split between August 19th and 22nd, when the city will host the Days of Diocletian festival.
