Croatia tours: Take in some culture in Rijeka

Travellers can stop off in Rijeka during Croatia tours this summer to enjoy some culture.

According to the national tourist board, the Summer at Gradina programme will run until September 15th this year.

The annual festival brings a variety of shows and events to Gradina fortress, featuring well-known local actors and singers.

As well as checking out some of the entertainment on offer inside, travellers visiting Rijeka during Croatia tours can take some time to appreciate the fort's exterior.

The structure was built at the site of a former Roman observation post, which was used to protect the town from the Turkish army.

Other experiences on offer in Rijeka include taking a walk along the picturesque seafront and visiting the historic churches.
