Jolie was presented with the honorary Heart of Sarajevo award and received a standing ovation as she made her way to the stage to make a tearful speech.

"I told Brad in the car I was afraid I was going to cry," she said.

The actress has visited Bosnia several times as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations and also used locations in the country for her directorial debut, which is set during the war that took place in the southern European nation in the 1990s.
