Croatia holidays: Rab is 'fit for a king'

Those wondering which island they would like to spend time on during a Croatian holiday have been advised to try Rab, which has connections to the British royal family.

According to Jennie Bond, former royal correspondent for the BBC, Edward VIII and his lover Wallis Simpson took a trip to the Adriatic island during his short reign, causing controversy by bathing naked in the bay of Kandarola.

Writing for the Mirror, Ms Bond said that travellers will find a more relaxed lifestyle than those found in Split, Dubrovnik and Hvar, where Prince Harry was recently seen revelling in one its many clubs.

Rab is very proud of its beaches - particularly its sandy ones. The biggest, Paradise Beach, is perfect for families, with safe swimming and plenty of watersports," she explained.

Rap royalty Beyonce and Jay-Z recently took some time out to relax by taking a Croatia tour on the island of Hvar, near Dubrovnik, following the news of their expected child.
