Croatia holidays ideal for adventurous wine-lovers, experts say

Croatia holidays ideal for adventurous wine-lovers, experts say As well as stunning beaches and lively nightlife, Croatia holidays also offer the chance to enjoy some of the world's best wine, it has been suggested.

The country is already popular among sun-seekers and culture vultures, with destinations such as Hvar, Split and Dubrovnik particularly popular.

Now it looks like a new breed of tourist could start flocking to Croatia, namely wine connoisseurs keen to sample the current 'big thing' among sommeliers.

According to the 'Quaffer's Corner' section of London's City AM newspaper, Croatia's wines are currently among the most exciting in the world.

"Croatia is a nation with a long and proud history of wine-making," the report advises.

"So embrace novelty, go out this week and drink a bottle of Croatian wine. Take a deep breath, pass on the Sauvignon Blanc and drink a Malvasia Istriana, put down the Shiraz and pick up a Plavac Mali."

Away from the vineyards, Croatia's nightspots, including the clubs of the Adriatic cruise port of Hvar, are popular with champagne-drinking socialites, with Prince Harry recently snapped enjoying a summer holiday here.ADNFCR-2466-ID-800734010-ADNFCR
