Visitors to be given warm welcome on Croatia holidays

Visitors to be given warm welcome on Croatia holidays Visitors enjoying holidays in Croatia over the next 12 months will be given an especially warm welcome.

Already the country is a hit with international travellers, due in no small part to its many historic sites and its stunning beaches and turquoise seas.

However, not ones to rest on their laurels, the country's tourism authorities have launched a new initiative geared towards highlighting the friendly welcome visitors will get.

The new initiative, labelled 'The person is the key to tourism, will see everyday Croatians given the chance to become the face of the country.

In particular, judges at an upcoming contest to find a new unofficial ambassador will be looking for qualities such as "professionalism, a good spirit and a big smile", the Croatia Times reports.

As well as its natural attractions and friendly people, those taking Croatia holidays are also able to enjoy the local cuisine, which mixes Mediterranean and Central European influences.
