Demand for Croatia holidays keeps growing, stats show
The number of international travellers enjoying Croatia holidays has increased markedly over recent months, official figures show.According to the latest data released by the Croatian statistics office, the number of tourists arriving in July was 5.2 per cent higher than the figure recorded for the same month of 2010.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Societe Generale analyst Zdeslav Santic noted that, as well as being good news for tourists keen to enjoy the many charms of Croatia, the ongoing international interest in the country is also benefitting the locals.
"Though the arrivals are on the rise, the real success of the tourist season is measured by revenue and the global crisis caused tourists to spend more carefully," he said.
This comes as links between the UK and Croatia continue to improve.
Last week, Jet2.com announced the upcoming launch of new flights between Manchester and Pula, providing a gateway to the Adriatic cruise port for sun-seekers in the north of England.
