New Hilton hotel comes to Croatia

New Hilton hotel comes to Croatia Luxury hotel chain Hilton Worldwide has announced the launch of a new resort in Croatia.

The newly built DoubleTree by Hilton will open in the spring of 2012 in Zagreb and will form part of a mixed-use development of offices and retail spaces in the city's central business district.

DoubleTree by Hilton is the company's first hotel in Croatia's capital and could result in a rise in demand for luxury Croatian holidays.

The development is close to a number of tourist attractions and is a short walking distance from the historic old town which consists of the medieval Cornji grad and Donji grad - Zagreb's cultural, religious and commercial hub.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton Worldwide's senior vice-president of development for Europe and Africa, said: "Our outstanding portfolio of brands, which includes DoubleTree by Hilton, is gaining real momentum in south-eastern Europe, with further projects under development in Croatia, Montenegro, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria."

Hilton Worldwide first entered the Croatian market in 2005 with the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, which is located on the Dalmatian coast.
