Plitvice National Park welcomes its millionth visitor this month

Plitvice National Park welcomes its millionth visitor this month If you're thinking of booking a Croatia sailing holiday, then you may want to pay a visit to the highly popular Plitvice National Park before setting off.

The national park this month welcomed its one millionth visitor - and it's easy to see why this stunning location has attracted so many tourists.

As anyone who has done research on Croatia holidays will know, Plitvice National Park is home to breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls that cascade through lush green foliage before plunging into crystal clear waters far below.

It really is a vision of paradise and for those visiting Croatia for a sailing holiday isworth taking in ahead of a trip at sea.

The park welcomed its millionth visitor on Tuesday, which, rather fittingly, happened to be World Tourism Day.

"We are very pleased that so many tourists from all around the world come to Plitvice, until recently we had had guests from France, Germany, Italy, Austria as regulars but this year we had lots of Russian, Japanese and Chinese groups," the park's PR manager, Vlatka Ruzic, told Croatian website Vjesnik.com.
