Croatia holiday-goers from Split to Zagreb still soaking up the sun
Vacationers on Croatia holidays could enjoy an Indian summer with temperatures set to remain high this October. The warm weather follows on from a September that was the hottest in history for many regions of the country.
Those enjoying sailing holidays in Croatia are likely to have felt the benefits too, with cities like Split, Dubrovnik and Zagreb enjoying their highest ever-registered temperatures for last month.
Last weekend, temperatures remained above 30 degrees with the beaches still busy and the Croatia sailing season enjoying an extension.
Hottest ever September temperatures were also recorded in Knin, Zadar, Rijeka and Gospic with only the eastern city of Osijek recording warmer weather back in 1942.
The scorching September looks set to continue into October too with meteorologists predicting the above-average temperatures to continue into the month.
It is a welcome boost to the travellers planning Croatia tours, with the good weather proving ideal for trips around the Balkan country.
