Croatian holidays offers cuisine to put fried chicken in the shade
Fine cuisine should be part of any Croatia holiday, despite the recent opening of the country’s first fried chicken restaurant.Earlier this week, Croatian daily newspaper Jutarnji List reported on the arrival of the first fried chicken restaurant in the capital of Zagreb, with plans afoot to expand the franchise across the Balkans nation.
But while the expansion could provide cheap food for anyone on a Croatia tour of the region, they would be missing out on a fantastic range of delicacies.
Travel anywhere along the Dalmatian coast and you are likely to encounter a variety of high quality seafood dishes that are an essential part of any sailing holiday in Croatia.
Sea bass, leaf fish, squid, shrimp, mussels, lobsters and crabs are all in plentiful supply and sure to be found on the menus of restaurants in coastal cities like Dubrovnik and Hvar.
As if that was not enough, there are a variety of goulash dishes to enjoy with the Pasticada a favourite among visitors while the famous Kulen spicy sausage is a must for any meat fans.
All of which means that a fried chicken should be the last thing you choose when travelling in the Balkans region this summer!
