Golden Globe winner praises award winning Croatia holidays

Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has praised the wonderful surroundings on offer for those considering a Croatia holiday, during a recent-behind-the scenes interview.

Dinklage was speaking during an HBO documentary special filmed in Dubrovnik, where much of the second season of the award winning fantasy drama is being filmed.

His performance as Tyrion Bannister in the critically acclaimed series has seen the star enjoy unprecedented praise, culminating in the 42-year-old picking up an Emmy Award earlier this week.

But while those around him may be lauding his acting skills, Dinklage appears to be enjoying his opportunity to soak up the sun with a Croatia holiday of sorts while filming.

Speaking in a recent behind-the-scenes interview, the actor had nothing but praise for the city of Dubrovnik and the Balkans nation in general as a top destination.

"Croatia is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been," he said

"The people, the food, everything about this place is just gorgeous."

The former Elf star demonstrated a particular fondness for the Adriatic coastline, so often popular among those seeking a sailing holiday in Croatia.

During breaks in filming he confessed to enjoying nothing more than to "go swimming in the cleanest water I have ever seen.".

Dinklage is set to return to the screen in Game of Thrones from April
