A Croatia holiday flights to Dubrovnik 41% cheaper, says Fly.com

The cost of a Croatia holiday could be even cheaper this summer, after research revealed flights to Dubrovnik are set go down in price in 2012.

According to research conducted by Fly.com, flights to Dubrovnik have seen a 41 per cent year-on-year reduction in price.

The reduction in prices came due to the increased competition among firms on the route, with a number of low-cost airlines offering cheap travel to the Croatia holiday paradise.

This latest research is welcome reading for anyone considering a Dubrovnik cruise in the area, with the traditional Croatian city providing a memorable holiday base for anyone travelling in the region.

The proximity of the Dalmatian coast also allows for plenty of Adriatic cruise opportunities and chances to soak up the sun and the sights of the region.

Aaron Ritoper, Fly.com's UK general manager said: "This study confirms that airline prices on average are higher this January than last, but there are still some bright spots, particularly Miami, Rio and Dubrovnik."

Dubrovnik has won praise as one of the top Croatia holiday destinations from a variety of sources in recent months.

Back in January, Games of Thrones star Peter Dinklage was among those to describe the region as a "paradise" after soaking up the Mediterranean atmosphere while filming the fantasy series in the city.
