A Croatia holiday could make for the perfect stag do
With the number of couples planning stag and hen dos abroard rising, combining a Croatia holiday alongside the big event could provide a truly memorable experience. The suggestion follows reports that the number of couples planning stag and hen dos across the continent is on the rise, with cities like Amsterdam and Prague traditionally popular among these travelling partygoers.
Jane Anderson is a wedding writer for the popular site 101honeymoons.co.ukand as someone who specialises in weddings and honeymoons abroad, has noted the significant increase in demand for overseas trips.
"There's an increase in couples going overseas for their stags or hens and making a whole mini holiday of it," she explained in recent interview.
But while the traditionally night-time social antics remain an integral part of these trips abroad, the expert did note that these groups are demanding a little bit more from their destinations these days.
As Ms Anderson explains, these group "don't want to just lie on the beach, but [want] a bit more adventure".
"They'll go somewhere a lot more challenging, where they can do some sporty stuff or cultural stuff," she added.
As such, a Croatia holiday to the likes of Dubrovnik, Pula or Rijeka could be just the ticket, with each location effectively combining all of the demands that Ms Anderson believes are fundamental to the wedding party abroad experience.
Dubrovnik for instance, offers a wide variety of cultural experiences, with travellers invited to explore the iconic walled city and its stunning architecture that dates back centuries. Visitors may be interested to note, for instance, that the city has proven a popular filming location for popular HBO drama series Game of Thrones.
Meanwhile, a trip to Pula offers the chance to explore some awe-inspiring remnants of the Roman era, from the city's popular coliseum through to the buildings and temples constructed in honour of their former rulers.
More importantly, in both locations, the nearby western coastline of the Balkans nation means visitors will be able to indulge in one of the many Adriatic cruises available throughout the region.
With good drinks, great friends and even better tunes on offer during these Croatia sailing experiences, a visit to the region could be your chance to make any wedding celebration the most memorable possible.
