Dalmatian Coast tops TripAdvisor survey

Dalmatian Coast tops TripAdvisor survey The west coastline of Croatia offers the cheapest holiday rental accommodation in Europe, according to a new survey produced by travel website TripAdvisor.

Among the most popular sites in the world for user-generated reviews of some of the world's top destinations, the company's seal of approval is one of the most sought after in the tourism business today.

Last week, a Croatia holiday to the popular coastal region – which is famous for the variety of Adriatic cruises available to explore the many islands off its coast – was given the thumbs up by researchers in the region.

They were investigating the cheapest regions in Europe for anyone seeking holiday rentals and found the Balkans nation pipped a number of more-familiar locations to offer the best value for money.

It marked a stark contrast to the UK, where holiday rental prices are set to hit the roof just in time for the Olympic Games.

With transport chaos looming in the capital, booking a Croatia holiday may be advised anyway, but with these kinds of prices on offer, it is difficult not to be tempted.

According to the TripAdvisor survey, which was published on the thisismoney.co.uk website, holidaymakers can expect to pay around £264 a week for a room on the Dalmatian Coast.

In comparison, the next cheapest was Andalucia in Spain, where travellers would pay £274 a week while a week in Tenerife and the Canary Islands would cost around £281 per person.

Speaking to the news provider, spokesperson Laurel Greatrix said: "Holiday rentals are always a great option.

"Cost-conscious travellers - especially those travelling in groups - should look to destinations like … Croatia and Andalucia in Europe, to find great properties without breaking the bank."

Taking advantage of this accommodation could prove a particularly smart move for anyone planning to hit one of the many sun-kissed music festival set for the summer on the iconic coastline.

With plenty of opportunities to sail Croatia on hand too, you may even be tempted to stay two weeks.ADNFCR-2466-ID-801403718-ADNFCR
