Soundwave kicks off in Tisno

One of the Balkans most popular festivals, Soundwave, is set to kick off this weekend in the stunning surroundings of the Garden in Tisno.

Situated near Zadar, this popular music extravaganza is promising to be one to remember with legendary US hiphop trio De La Soul among the notable on stage highlights.

Hailing from New York, the group are best remembered for their seminal album Three Feet High and Rising and are likely to wow crowds with renditions of some of their all-time favourites including Me, Myself and I along with The Magic Number.

Elsewhere, Ghostpoet will be bring a fresh slice of UK r'n'b to proceedings with cuts from his Mercury award-nominated debut effort Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam the perfect choice for a night of chilled tunes in this Croatia holiday paradise.

Meanwhile, for those with an inkling for something funky, inventive and just that right side of crazy, DJ Yoda could be just the ticket.

Hailed as one of Q Magazines Ten DJs to See Before Your Die, DJ Yoda mixes reggae, funk, big band swing, country, kuduro and drum 'n' bass  with memorable film and television scores  to devastating effect.

Craig Charles will also be on hand with a wonderful set of funk and soul classics sure to please holidaymakers of all ages at the site.

Scheduled to run from July 19th to July 23rd and based near the city of Zadar, the festival is also blessed by its close proximity to the Adriatic Sea.

This allows festival goers, like many holidaymakers before them, to enjoy one of the many Croatia cruises running throughout the summer and beyond.

These sailing experiences offer the perfect blend of relaxation and sight-seeing, with passengers invited to sit back with a drink and take in the many wonders existing in the vast array of islands located off the country's west coast.

Travellers can also cool off with a dip in the Adriatic as part of the ultimate Croatia holiday experience.

And while Soundwave may be fast approaching, there are plenty of festival scheduled to run over the rest of the summer with Dimensions and Outlook among the stand outs.
