The Malta Independent called Croatia "a country graced with the beauties of nature [and] a beautiful coastline", as well as several man-made sights that are worth seeing.

Its collection of hundreds of islands contribute to the appeal of the country's coast and make it "perfect" for sailing holidays, according to the newspaper.

Travellers who take Croatia sailing breaks this year can choose from several large islands that have become popular tourist destinations, such as Hvar, Makarska, Krk and Vis.

There are also hundreds of smaller isles, some of which are uninhabited, that holidaymakers can keep an eye out for during their Croatia sailing holidays.

People who are interested in seeing mainland Croatia can choose a cruise that stops at one of the city's major tourist cities, such as the historic centres of Dubrovnik and Split.
