Giorgio Armani takes a Croatia sailing holiday

Brits on Adriatic cruises are not the only people who have enjoyed some island hopping in Croatia recently, with legendary fashion designer Giorgio Armani treating himself to a sailing holiday along the Dalmatian coast.

Armani flew into Split with a private airline that serves wealthy people in the fashion industry, the Croatian Times reports.

The style icon had plans to see a number of locations that travellers can visit during their own Croatia sailing holidays, including the city of Dubrovnik and the islands of Hvar and Korcula.

News provider 24 sata quoted Armani as saying: "For a long time, I have wanted to see this part of the Adriatic because I have heard so many wonderful stories about it.

"I just want to enjoy cruising and hope I will also get some new inspiration for my autumn collection."

People who follow in the designer's footsteps by taking a Croatia sailing holiday can visit some of the Dalmatian coast's historic cities and beaches or go the active route and set off on a cycling tour.
