'No problem' for women to take Croatia cruises alone

No problem for women to take Croatia cruises alone A travel expert has reassured women planning to embark on a Croatia sailing holiday alone that they should encounter no problems or causes for concern in the country.

New York Times travel writer Jon Bowermaster was responding to an email question from a woman in her 20s who said she was interested in taking a Croatia sailing holiday and was considering travelling solo.

He said that it is "absolutely no problem" for women to go island hopping in Croatia on their own, pointing out that there is no bias or safety concern in the region that would cause any issues for solo female travellers.

Mr Bowermaster recommended the larger islands of Hvar and Korcula for individual travellers looking for "active nightlife scenes", while smaller isles are better for a quiet break.

The writer recently published an article in the New York Times about the historic lighthouses that travellers can look out for during Croatia sailing holidays.

There are 11 lighthouses located on islands off the Dalmatian coast, which are among many sights that holidaymakers can look out for during their trip.ADNFCR-2466-ID-19280017-ADNFCR
