Croatia holidays: Brits looking overseas for good weather

There has recently been a "flurry of activity" in the holiday market as Brits have turned to overseas breaks such as Croatia sailing holidays to escape poor weather at home, according to a travel expert.

Ian Bradley, a spokesman for the Association of Independent Tour Operators, said that the good weather in the early summer period led many people to decide to take domestic holidays this year.

However, those who left their holiday plans to the last minute are opting for Croatia holidays and other trips abroad to ensure that they get some sun, according to Mr Bradley.

"People are panicking and thinking: 'I thought [the weather] was going to be great, it's not, get me out of here'," he said.

One travel option that is guaranteed to provide Brits with an escape from their life at home is a Croatia sailing holiday, which provides the opportunity to see the stunning islands of the Adriatic as well as historic cities such as Dubrovnik and Split.
