Croatia cycle holidays: Brits still heading abroad

Croatia cycle holidays: Brits still heading abroad Croatia cycle holidays and other trips abroad look likely to remain popular among Brits, with a travel expert recently saying that people will continue to travel overseas despite the option of domestic breaks.

As a result of the recession and the credit crunch, it was predicted that 2009 would be the year of the 'staycation', with many British people expected to take holidays in the UK.

Frances Tuke, a spokeswoman for Abta - The Travel Association, revealed that a lot of effort has been put into promoting the UK this year, but a large portion of the travelling public still wants to go abroad to enjoy some guaranteed weather.

She pointed out that Britain had been promised a "barbecue summer" this year and many people felt "a little short-changed" when it failed to materialise.

"The UK has got a lot to offer but once you've been on one damp holiday at home, you start looking to go further afield," Ms Tuke added.

Croatia sail and cycle holidays provide the opportunity to enjoy warm weather and see some of the most stunning scenery that Europe has to offer.

Travellers can also take Adriatic cruises to visit Dubrovnik, Split and other hotspots along the Croatian coast.ADNFCR-2466-ID-19365724-ADNFCR
