Croatia cycle holidays: 'Growing optimism' in travel industry

Croatia cycle holidays: Growing optimism in travel industry People planning Croatia sail and cycle holidays and other trips abroad in the future could be happy to hear that there is currently "growing optimism" in the travel industry.

That is the opinion of Ian Bradley, a spokesman for the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), who said it is "definitely the case" that holiday firms are looking to the future with confidence.

He said that operators are "more confident than they were even three months ago" and holiday enquiries are beginning to increase.

Mr Bradley said that many people are beginning to feel that Britain is over the worst of the recession, suggesting that some travellers could be starting to plan their Croatia sail and cycle holidays and other future getaways.

"It's been a year since things started to go wrong in the economy and people have decided that most of the [job] cuts that are likely to be made have probably happened by now," the AITO spokesman said.

"That may not be strictly true … but they have seen a year of the cycle and they are thinking, 'you know what? I'm still here, I've still got my job, I've still got my house, maybe I'll just treat myself a little bit and go on that holiday that I deserve'."

People who decide to treat themselves to a Croatia sail and cycle holiday in the future can see stunning Adriatic destinations such as the island of Hvar and the city of Split.ADNFCR-2466-ID-19373985-ADNFCR
