Croatian boatmen to take unusual Adriatic cruise

Croatian boatmen to take unusual Adriatic cruise Travellers planning Croatia sailing holidays in the future are not alone in looking forward to a memorable cruise on the Adriatic Sea, according to reports.

A group of Croatian sailors have announced a plan to use gondolas to cross the Adriatic, which separates Italy from the Balkan region of south-eastern Europe.

The boatmen, who are part of an association based near the Neretva river, plan to undertake the challenge in the same boats that were used to cross the English Channel, the Croatian Times reported.

Five teams are set to take part in the unusual Adriatic cruise, using long wooden boats shaped like Venetian gondolas.

They plan to set off from south Croatia and embark on a crossing that will end in Termoli in the Italian province of Campobasso.

People looking forward to Croatia sailing holidays next year will be able to enjoy a more comfortable journey in a motor cruiser that will take them to some of the country's most popular hotspots.ADNFCR-2466-ID-19475216-ADNFCR
