Croatia holidays: Older travellers 'getting more adventurous'

Croatia sailing holidays and other adventurous trips abroad could soon become increasingly popular among older travellers, with a survey revealing that this demographic is showing more interest in heading overseas.

Age Concern Enterprises stated that 65 "is the new 25", with older people travelling further afield and booking more trips throughout the year.

The company revealed that it saw record take-up of both European and worldwide multi-trip insurance policies last year as over-65s embarked on more Croatia sailing holidays and other breaks.

Joe Young of Age Concern Insurance Services said: "Globe-trotting is no longer the [preserve] of the young.

"Over-65s are as likely to be travelling the world as younger generations as they search for ways to bring excitement to retirement. And as the population ages, we predict a travel boom which will see even more mature people exploring far flung destinations."

A Croatia sailing holiday could provide the perfect way for older travellers to combine exciting excursions with relaxing visits to islands and cities.
