Croatia holidays 'more popular in 2009'

Croatia holidays more popular in 2009 Adriatic cruises and other Croatia holidays appeared to be an increasingly popular option for Britons last year, a new report suggests.

The Post Office, which is the largest provider of foreign exchange services in the UK, released a list of its top 20 bestselling currencies for 2009.

Croatia's kuna saw a 17 per cent increase in sales compared to the previous year, suggesting that Adriatic cruises and other holiday options in the country were a more popular option.

Overall, the kuna was 14th in the list of the Post Office's top currencies, placing Croatia ahead of other holiday destinations such as Bulgaria, Norway and Sweden.

The Post Office has approximately 12,000 branches around the UK, where customers can pre-order all major currencies.

After acquiring their travel money, Brits can set off on a Croatia sailing holiday to see some of the most spectacular destinations on the Adriatic coast, from the cities of Dubrovnik and Split to the islands of Hvar and Korcula.
