Journalist recommends island hopping in Croatia

Journalist recommends island hopping in Croatia Travellers looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway this year have been urged to consider a sailing holiday in Croatia.

In an article published in the travel section of the Daily Mirror, writer Sue Jolly says it is the Adriatic Sea that gives the country its unique appeal and makes it a "great destination".

She points out that there are more than 1,000 isles located off Croatia's coast and advises people planning an Adriatic cruise that "you can't beat doing your island hopping by cruiser".

Ms Jolly began her Croatia sailing holiday with a trip to the Makarska and the Biokovo Mountains.

Describing the area, she writes: "The air is full of the smell of juniper and pine and the Adriatic Sea is sparkling far below."

The Daily Mirror writer also stopped off in the Adriatic cruise hotspot of Split and paid a visit to the Unesco World Heritage site of Trogir, which she described as "remarkably pretty".ADNFCR-2466-ID-19604531-ADNFCR
