Last-minute Croatia holidays 'to become more popular'

Last-minute Croatia holidays to become more popular The coming year is set to bring an increase in the number of people waiting until the last minute before arranging their Croatia sail and cycle holidays and other breaks in the country.

At the most recent meeting of the Croatian National Tourist Board, government minister Damir Bajs predicted that 2010 will be the year of the last-minute break, the Croatian Times reports.

He also forecast that marinas would perform well in tourism terms this year, possibly attracting a higher number of people on Adriatic cruises.

Some 130 million kunas (£16.2 million) will be invested in marketing activities to promote Croatia over the coming months as the country attempts to compete with other popular destinations such as Spain, Portugal and Greece.

This level of financing would represent an increase of 6.4 million kunas from last year's spending.

People who enjoy adventurous activities can bookCroatia sail and cycle holidays to see some of the country's scenic islands and coastal cities.

Visitors can also book scuba diving trips, walking tours and other excursions.ADNFCR-2466-ID-19663078-ADNFCR
