Croatia holidays: Non-euro destinations 'still best value'
Britons taking Croatia sailing holidays this year look set to benefit from the fact that the country has its own currency, with a travel expert revealing that non-euro destinations still offer the best value in terms of overseas spending. The recent economic crisis has led to the pound suffering a drastic fall in value against the single European currency, meaning that countries such as France and Spain have effectively become more expensive for tourists from the UK.
Bob Atkinson, a travel expert from travelsupermarket.com, revealed that British consumers have become increasingly adept at seeking out bargains on breaks, such as Croatia sailing holidays, in recent years.
"If there is something that Brits love more than anything else it's the concept that they've got themselves a bargain or a deal," he said.
"Overall weare very price-led as a nation."
People planning Adriatic cruises and other trips abroad this year can ensure they make the most of their breaks by arranging excursions such as cycling tours and scuba diving trips.
