Croatia holidays: Desire to travel 'stronger than ever'
Croatia sailing holidays and other trips abroad look set to remain popular this year, with the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) revealing that demand for travel among British consumers is currently "stronger than ever".The association teamed up with Wanderlust magazine to conduct a survey on the state of the travel sector and found that there is a lot of positive feeling within the industry.
Two-thirds (67 per cent) of the tour operators polled said they have seen a year-on-year increase in bookings in the first quarter of 2010.
Furthermore, 90 per cent of the companies in the survey revealed that they expect demand to remain consistent or improve on last year in the next quarter.
AITO chairman Derek Moore pointed out that Britons have become less willing to sacrifice their Croatia holidays and other breaks in recent times.
He added: "It's encouraging to see just how positive consumer plans are for travel in 2010; tour operator bookings show that the desire to take holidays in 2010 is stronger than ever."
Adventurous travellers might be interested in arranging a sail and cycle holiday in Croatia to enjoy outdoor pursuits in some of the country's most spectacular locations.
