Croatia holidays 'offer good value for money'

One of the major benefits on offer to people taking Croatia holidays is the country's value for money, a tourism expert has claimed.

Meri Matesic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Office in London, pointed out that the recent fall in value of the pound against the single European currency has led to an increasing number of Britons visiting destinations outside the eurozone.

She said that this factor, combined with the natural attractions on offer to people taking Adriatic cruises and similar breaks, has boosted the popularity of the country among Britons.

"Among European destinations, Croatia is obviously one of [the] few left out of [the] eurozone," Ms Matesic said.

"Based on that fact and also the good value for money it offers, plus the irrefutably stunning natural and cultural beauty, Croatia is increasingly popular among British holidaymakers."

The tourist board director went on to recommend a number of destinations for people planning Adriatic cruises and other getaways in the region this year, including Zadar and Split.
