Croatia holidays can save money if you plan ahead
Families planning to go on a Croatia holiday can beat the term-time price hikes if they plan ahead, according to one travel expert.Prices are usually increased on accommodation during school vacations to take advantage of the influx of summer holiday travellers.
However, the economic downturn has meant that travellers want to make their money go further.
A recent poll by one travel portal found that around 70 per cent of holiday makers wanted at least 25 per cent off the normal costs of a trip abroad.
One way to do this could be by booking later on in the summer holiday period.
Nick Trend, of Simonseeks.com, said that those who are prepared to wait until the end of the six week school break could find themselves having more options.
He advises: "May half term will be cheaper than the summer peak in July and August.
"Otherwise, take a break towards the end of August- airfares are generally a bit cheaper than in early August, and many European, family-oriented holidays cost significantly less too."
