Croatia 'remains hit destination'

Croatia remains hit destination A Croatia holiday is still the holiday of choice for many travellers, according to the latest figures.

Tourist numbers in the first week of July saw an increase on last year, the Croatian Times has reported.

Industry commentators believe that numbers will be even better for high summer in August.

While domestic tourism has dipped, foreign tourism has increased substantially, as the country's profile becomes even bigger internationally.

According to the paper, the minister of tourism Damir Bajs has said that the indications are good that the country can at least get the same number of tourists as last year.

The country's growing popularity as a cheap but off-the-beaten track destination means that budget travellers in the UK can benefit from a huge range of flights.

Families looking to save money will also get more for their money, because of the strength of the pound against the kuna.

If you're looking for a relatively cheap destination that is still slightly unusual but has the regular tourist attractions, a Croatia holiday could be ideal for your family.
