July marks new record for Croatia holidays

July marks new record for Croatia holidays The growing popularity of Croatia holidays was highlighted in July, with a record number of people visiting the country.

Tourism minister Damir Bajs revealed that the growth in visitors last month cancelled out the weaker figures that had been reported earlier in the year, the Croatian Times reports.

Overall, some 2.7 million people visited the country in July, nine per cent more than last year.

Daily newspaper Jutarnji List revealed that there were around 19 million overnight stays by people on Croatia holidays last month, marking a year-on-year increase of seven per cent.

Mr Bajs said: "The results show that this year's July is likely to be the best July in the history of Croatian tourism."

Travellers looking for a unique and memorable way to see the country can arrange an Adriatic cruise and visit famous coastal cities such as Dubrovnik, Split and Makarska, or explore idyllic islands like Hvar, Korcula and Vis.ADNFCR-2466-ID-800019320-ADNFCR
