Now is 'the perfect time' for a Croatia holiday
Britons considering a break in the coming weeks could do a lot worse than book a Croatia holiday, it has been suggested. The country has been growing in popularity as a travel destination in recent years, a trend demonstrated by the fact that it is now served by 80 flights a week from 19 UK airports.
Meri Matesic, UK director of the Croatian National Tourist Office, explained that indecisive holidaymakers should pick Croatia as now is the perfect time of year to visit.
"As Croatia has a mild Mediterranean climate, September and October are still very pleasant to travel around," she said.
"It's not that hot, not overcrowded but very enjoyable especially for those who like discovering hidden 'treasures'."
Ms Matesic also noted that Croatia can boast more than 1,000 islands, impressive gastronomy and great summer festivals, making it an "undiscovered destination".
Meanwhile, the Post Office revealed earlier this week that the Croatian kuna has been its best-selling foreign currency over the course of the summer months.
