Croatia holidays: Adriatic islands 'among Europe's best'

Travellers planning a Croatia sailing trip might be interested in seeing some of the islands scattered across the Adriatic, which have been voted among the most beautiful in Europe.

Holiday review site Zoover.com asked some 14,000 travellers to reveal the island destinations they have been most impressed by, TravelMole reports.

Croatia's islands took third place in the list with 16 per cent of the votes, behind only Greece and Spain.

One of the most popular destinations for travellers to visit during an Adriatic cruise is Hvar, which is known for its luxurious climate and spectacular natural scenery.

Holidaymakers can begin their journey with visits to the cities of Split and Makarska before stopping off in Mljet, Dubrovnik and other destinations and heading to Hvar to see attractions such as the Renaissance cathedral.

There are many otherislands that are worth seeing during a Croatia sailing holiday, such as Korcula, Brac, Rab and Vis.
