Be inspired to take a cycling holiday in Croatia

Those looking to set off on an exciting Croatia holiday may be inspired to carry out the journey on two wheels when they hear of one man's journey through the country.

Ben Rowlands from Scarborough is currently nearing the end of a round the world cycle challenge which he started in June 2009, according to the Scarborough Evening News.

As well as cycling through the UK, France, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and many more countries, Ben also spent some time cycling in Croatia.

With thousands of miles of coastline and countless offshore islands, Croatia's Dalmatian Coast is one of the most incredible areas in the world to cycle.

There are plenty of islands and historic landmarks to explore and you can begin on the island of Split, then travel by bike and ferry around the scenic islands of Hvar and Korcula.
